Successful Completion of Two-Day Training for Newly Appointed Food Inspectors under Food Act 2022

In Gilgit, a two-day training session organized by the Food Department, Gilgit-Baltistan for newly appointed Food Inspectors under the Food Act 2022 has been successfully concluded. The closing session was attended by Secretary Food Gilgit-Baltistan, Sardar Asad Haroon, and Director Food / Food Safety Officer, Muhammad Jafar. During the training, senior officers and the Legal Advisor provided practical guidance on implementation of the Food Act, market inspections, food safety standards, and relevant SOPs to enable inspectors to perform their field duties effectively. Addressing the concluding ceremony, the Secretary Food and Director Food congratulated the participants and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the supply of safe and quality food through effective enforcement of the Food Act 2022. The training was described as a significant step toward strengthening the food safety system in the region, placing a major responsibility on Food Inspectors to eliminate unsafe food practices and ensure the availability of clean and quality food for the public.
