1. What is the current rate of 20 kgs subsidized flour bag and 40 kgs subsidized flour bag?

Ans: Ans: The current rate of 20 kgs flour bags is Rs. 508 and the current rate of 40 kgs flour bags is Rs. 1016.

2. What is the current per kg rate of subsidized wheat?

Ans: Ans: The current per kg rate of subsidized wheat in Gilgit-Baltistan is Rs. 20. In this way, the rate of 100 kgs wheat bags becomes Rs. 2000.

3. What is the per-person per-month quota of subsidized wheat/flour in Gilgit-Baltistan?

Ans: Ans: Due to non-availability of accurate consumer data, currently the per-person per-month quota of subsidized wheat is not fixed across all mohallahs/areas. In order to fix the Food department is conducting digital surveys. Once the process of digitization is completed, per-person per-month quota of subsidized wheat will be fixed across all mohallahs i.e. 6.73 kgs as per government policy.

Ans: Ans: The commission of a dealer per 40 kgs flour bag is Rs. 28. It may be noted that the rate of 40 kgs flour bags is Rs. 1016, after including the dealer’s commission.

6. Are non-domiciled people (people from other provinces living in GB) entitled to get subsidized wheat/flour in Gilgit-Baltistan?

Ans: Ans: As per the government policy, non-domiciled people (people from other provinces living in GB) are not entitled to get subsidized wheat/flour.

7. How to register subsidized wheat/flour related complains?

Ans: Ans: Subsidized wheat/flour related complains can be registered through submitting written application in the concerned AD/CSO office.

8. Can any special wheat/flour quota be allocated to an institution/organization/office/VIP/ individual?

Ans: Ans: After the decision of GB cabinet, all the special subsidized wheat/flour quotas have been discontinued from November, 2023 onwards. No institution/organization/office/VIP/ individual can get any special quota now.

9. How many times in a month subsidized flour is dispatched/issued to dealers in district Gilgit?

Ans: Ans: In district Gilgit, subsidized flour is dispatched/issued to dealers 4 times (weekly) in each monthly.

10. Are the GB domiciled migrated people who are currently living in urban centers such as Gilgit and Skardu in rented houses entitled to get subsidized wheat/flour?

Ans: Ans: GB domiciled migrated people who are currently living in urban centers such as Gilgit and Skardu in rented houses are entitled to get subsidized wheat/flour because Food department has curtailed a certain percentage of subsidized wheat quota of other districts and added it to the allocation of urban centers i.e. Gilgit and Skardu to accommodate the migrated people.

11. Can an individual sell/replace his bag of subsidized flour in the market?

Ans: Ans: No, the selling of subsidized wheat/flour in market is prohibited and such act can attract legal action.

12. What is the total number of subsidized wheat/flour dealers in district Gilgit?

Ans: Ans: There are a approx. 500 wheat/flour dealers in district Gilgit.
