2. Establishment of Food Testing Lab

In a significant development, the Food Department has established a state-of-the-art Food Testing Lab in collaboration with the government. This lab enables the testing of food samples locally, ensuring the quality of food items and eliminating adulteration. The Food Lab is a critical infrastructure that supports the food department's mission to provide safe and wholesome food to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

3. Food Fortification

The Food Department, in collaboration with the World Food Organization, has initiated a food fortification project to enrich flour with essential nutrients.
