Introduction

For the first time in the history of Gilgit-Baltistan, a Food Testing Lab has been established in Gilgit, marking a significant advancement in the region's food safety infrastructure. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to rigorously test and evaluate the quality of various food items, including flour, water, oils, ghee, and other essential consumables. The establishment of this lab ensures that all food products undergo stringent quality checks to verify their adherence to established standards. Samples of food items are systematically analyzed for contaminants, nutritional content, and overall safety. Should any food product fail to meet the quality benchmarks, it is promptly banned from distribution within the region.
